The Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga houses the Portugal largest collection of portuguese and foreign art. The variety of Plastic and Decorative Arts objects and the large timeline in which they are inserted - from the 12th century to the 19th century – are important components to an expressive collection that belongs to diverse geographical origins like Portugal, Europe and Orient.

To a more extensive and deep knowledge of our collections it is available the MatrizNet – IMC Museums Collections, an online interface of the Matriz database that offers information through texts, image, video and sound about the  collections of the museums that are dependent on Instituto dos Museus e da Conservação (IMC).
